Press Release — Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC) <br />Regarding Legal Action Attempting to Restrict Public Access to Public <br />Parkland — No Comment <br />B. Goebel Senior Center Commission Meeting — September 2006 — No <br />Comment <br />C. Teen Center Status Report — Spring 2006 — No Comment <br />D. Westlake Hills Elementary School Perimeter Fence Project <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Friedl explained staff has met with <br />representatives of Conejo Valley Unified School District, regarding its plan <br />to build a Westlake Hills Elementary School perimeter fence, in part on <br />District property; staff will work to ensure public access and no loss of <br />usable area; no cost to the District will be incurred; and staff will report back <br />to the Board as the project progresses. <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Hare reported that staff has been involved in preliminary discussion with <br />representatives of the City of Thousand Oaks and various sports groups to <br />establish recycling opportunities and procedures at numerous locations <br />beginning in early 2007. <br />Concluding, he said that it is envisioned that a request for bid award for a <br />bus for the Therapeutic Unit will be brought to the Board at the next <br />meeting. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Benton reported that the Conejo Center/Outdoor Unit had 136 participants <br />at the family campout on October 21122, and currently registration is <br />underway for Sycamore to the Sea on November 18 and the Jingle Bell <br />
