CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 7, 2006 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Gibson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., and Hare led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare and Lewanda, <br />Recreation Manager Wiley and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Ride On Annual Report — Bryan McQueeney <br />McQueeney referenced the annual report, noted the Ventura Farms Benefit on <br />September 16, and expressed pride in Ride On's accomplishments and <br />appreciation for the District's support. In response to Board inquiries, he reported: <br />this is the fifth year of service to the disabled community of Conejo Valley, serving <br />approximately 85 disabled children and adults each week; Ride On plans to <br />continue expanding its program to serve 100 clients per week; an effort has been <br />launched to either purchase the Chatsworth facility or move to another facility <br />which can serve the San Fernando Valley; discussions have taken place with the <br />City of Los Angeles regarding use of some recently acquired parkland for <br />equestrian purposes; and volunteers are essential to the program and are always <br />welcome. <br />Hare stated that the District has allocated funds for a wastewater line project to <br />help reduce Ride On's maintenance and operation costs. <br />Holt congratulated McQueeney on his success, and said she was proud of the <br />District's supporting role. Gibson thanked McQueeney for the information and <br />report. <br />
