July 20, 2006 <br />Page 3 <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to authorize <br />the expenditure of up to $37,500 towards schematic design and cost <br />estimates for the community pool at the Samuelson Aquatics Center <br />at California Lutheran University. <br />9. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION <br />None <br />10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />None <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Friedl reported that Park Division staff wished to express appreciation to the <br />Board for the budgeting funds to procure needed tools and equipment. <br />Relative to Conejo Creek South, he said as soon as netting is installed, it is <br />expected that the fields will get more usage by older age groups. <br />In response to Lange's inquiries, Friedl said that no complaints were <br />received recently relative to dog park lighting; and staff is working on a <br />software lighting problem. Concluding, Friedl said that in the past the <br />Oakbrook Neighborhood Park project was put on hold due to budget <br />constraints, but it is expected to be in next yea's budget. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Ward noted that Benton was absent and referenced the Recreation Division <br />handout. <br />He stated that the District has been asked to continue Club Sequoia at <br />Sequoia Middle School, while issues involving the Boys' and Girls' Club and <br />the Conejo Valley Unified School District are resolved. <br />C.
