Approval Of Addition Of Administrator, Parks & Planning Position; <br />Elimination Of Assistant General Manager/Administrator, Parks & <br />Planning Position; And Addition Of General Manager Emeritus <br />Position <br />Friedl provided background information and referenced submitted <br />documentation. He stated that, as part of the plan for the future transition to <br />a new General Manager, the position of Assistant General <br />Manage rlAdministrator, Parks & Planning position was created; as the <br />transition nears, it is recommended that an Administrator, Parks & Planning <br />position be added, effective August 7; this position will be filled by Tom <br />Hare; it is also recommended that the position of Assistant General <br />Manager/Parks and Planning Administrator be eliminated, and General <br />Manager Emeritus be added, effective August 21, for a period not to exceed <br />six months. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Berger, and carried 40 to <br />approve the addition of Administrator, Parks & Planning position, <br />eliminate Assistant General Manager/Administrator, Parks & Planning <br />position, and approve the addition of General Manager Emeritus <br />position. <br />B. Authorization To Expend $37,500 For Schematic Design And Cost <br />Estimates For Community Pool At California Lutheran University <br />Friedl summarized that the 2006-07 Capital Improvement Program budget <br />includes funds for approximately fifty percent of the design and construction <br />cost of the proposed community pool, which would be funded jointly by the <br />City of Thousand Oaks and Conejo Recreation and Park District; the pool is <br />to be located at California Lutheran University; and the estimated cost of a <br />schematic design and engineers cost estimate by Aquatics Design Group is <br />$75,000. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Fnedl said that once the schematic <br />design and engineers cost estimate is completed, the ad hoc committee will <br />meet to review the documentation and make recommendations to the <br />CRPD Board and City Council. <br />
