March 23, 2006 <br />Page 3 <br />Pluth said that the new building will be located south of the existing <br />maintenance compound adjacent to open space, and will match the <br />appearance of the recreation center. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Friedl said that use of rental fees is not <br />restricted to the area in which they are generated, and the entire <br />maintenance area will be fenced. <br />Gibson suggested that staff investigate the possibility of the current bins <br />being used by Equestrian Trails, Inc. (ETI) at Waverly Park, when they are no <br />longer needed at Dos Vientos. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiries, Bucello said that the cellular site would <br />provide service to the Dos Vientos area, and the building will become District <br />property. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to authorize <br />the General Manager to enter into an agreement with Nextel of <br />California, Inc./Sprint, for the purpose of establishing a cellular <br />communications site at Dos Vientos Community Park. <br />B. Approval Of Agreement With New Cingular Wireless, Inc., For Purpose <br />Of Establishing Cellular Communication Facilities At Borchard <br />Community Park And Lang Ranch Neighborhood Park <br />Friedl provided background information. He noted that establishing lease <br />agreements with cellular communication companies is becoming increasingly <br />profitable for the District, facilitates reinvestment back into the park by the <br />District, and the lease agreements are identical to our previous agreements <br />with Cingular. Relative to Borchard Community Park, he stated that the <br />proposed installation involves replacement of an existing light standard and <br />locating an equipment vault approximately six feet below grade; whereas at <br />]rang Ranch Neighborhood Park, the proposed installation involves only an <br />underground equipment vault, which will not be visually obtrusive or interfere <br />with park activities. He noted the presence of Jeff Jacobsen, Cingular <br />representative. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to authorize <br />the General Manager to enter into two separate lease agreements with <br />New Cingular Wireless, Inc. for the purpose of establishing cellular <br />communication facilities at Borchard Community Park and Lang Ranch <br />Neighborhood Park. <br />
