CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 6, 2007 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. and led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare, and <br />Lewanda, Parks Superintendent Marchesano, Human Resource Supervisor <br />Howell, and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Dave Hettwer stated that the Rancho Potrero Open House and Focus Group <br />Inter -Governmental Relations Committee meeting were both positive and he <br />approved of the recommendations. <br />Barbara Kloster, ETI, Corral 37, highlighted the recent Day of the Horse event. <br />She said it was an opportunity to educate the public and a subsequent donation <br />was made to Ride On. She thanked the District for the equestrian center <br />improvements, and said she looks forward to many more years of productive <br />collaboration with the District. <br />4. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Young Athlete Award — Katie Cochrane <br />Holt and Jacobson welcomed Katie Cochrane, outstanding equestrian and senior <br />at Thousand Oaks High School and member of Equestrian Trails Incorporated <br />(ETI), Corral #37. <br />Her numerous achievements were highlighted, including winner of Queen of the <br />National ETI organization, first place ribbons for Gymkhana Competitions and <br />horse shows, and first place ribbons in English Equitation and English Pleasure <br />Classes. As Queen, Cochrane held a play day for the horse community at Conejo <br />
