June 7, 2007 <br />Page 5 <br />Additionally, he will be participating telephonically in the CARPD Legislative <br />Committee scheduled for June 8 with Propositions 84 and1 C Implementing <br />Legislation as a key item of interest as it pertains to funding being steered <br />more so to urban communities with designation of underserved areas. <br />Staff is scheduled to meet with consultant Brett Ives Wednesday, June 13 <br />regarding Strategic Planning for District. Board will receive draft of Strategic <br />Plan upon compilation of information by consultant. <br />CVUSD is going through the process of declaring property near Conejo <br />Valley High School site as surplus. A report and pertinent information will <br />be brought to Board for consideration. <br />Finally, Friedl referenced hand-outs regarding Rancho Potrero which <br />includes the timeline of annexation and calendar for the focus groups which <br />will begin meeting Wednesday, June 13. Jacobsen requested list of focus <br />groups represented. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Gibson discussed Hayward Area Recreation and Park District's efforts <br />relative to ERAF mitigation, and suggested that Friedl look into the issue at <br />the next legislative meeting. <br />Holt announced that Rudy Beldner and Judy Lazar have been named Don <br />and Dona and highlighted their contributions to the community. She said <br />the Triunfo Ball is scheduled for July 21. <br />Berger stated that MRCA has cut the cost of weed abatement with several <br />new techniques and suggested that Hare contact MRCA. Continuing, <br />Berger said that film revenue has increased, and is currently $950,000, <br />which benefits not only MRCA but the whole community. He said that if <br />anyone is interested in touring any of the MRCA sites, to please contact <br />him. He noted the newsletter Symbiosis as an excellent source of <br />information. Berger commended staff for the volunteer picnic, and praised <br />Ride On's positive impact in the lives of many and noted the mutually <br />beneficial relationship which exists between the District and Ride On. <br />Lange stated that the recent Ventura County Special Districts Association <br />(VCSDA) meeting at Oxnard Harbor District was very interesting, and <br />additionally he attended the Dos Vientos YMCA ribbon cutting ceremony. <br />
