CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 1, 2007 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., and Holt led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare and Lewanda, <br />Recreation Manager Wiley, Sports Supervisor Lukes, Recreation Specialist <br />Pearson, Recreation Supervisor Koval, Recreation Coordinator Spatz, <br />Administrative Cleric Kranz and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Goebel Senior Center Commission Presentation — Loretta Cottman, <br />President <br />Koval thanked the Board for the opportunity to speak. She presented an overview <br />of the Goebel Senor Adult Center. She said that approximately '10,000 to 13,000 <br />participants are served every month through clubs, discussion groups, sports, <br />fitness, cultural and volunteer activities, social services, trips, bingo, the cafe and <br />excursions. She introduced Coffman. <br />Cottman displayed a list of Commission committees and members, discussed the <br />goals, activities and purpose of the Goebel Senior Center Commission, and <br />explained that it is the Commission's task to establish policies for the operation of <br />the center, and acquire and allocate funds for the center's support. She said all <br />those 55 and older are welcome. <br />Cottman introduced other commissioners in attendance including John Doane, <br />Gene Borghi, Russ Giovenco, and Alberta Horstin. <br />
