CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING <br />DECEMBER 18, 2008 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Berger <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl; Administrators Hare and Lewanda; and <br />Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Administration of Oath of Office to Chair George Lange and Director Mark <br />Jacobsen <br />Friedl administered the oath of office to Lange and Jacobsen, and offered his <br />congratulations. <br />Lange said it is an honor to serve. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />John Short III, Thousand Oaks, extended holiday greetings to all. He spoke of <br />Little League's recent fund raising tournament, which raised approximately <br />$125,000 this year for ALS diseases. <br />Kathy Carlson, Thousand Oaks, said that Neighborhood for Learning's use of <br />Crowley House is subsidized, and some of its policies need addressing. <br />Additionally, Carlson said she supports the Board appointment process. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0 to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />
