CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and Dawn Mena led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Berger <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl; Administrators Benton, Hare, and <br />Lewanda; Information Technology Analyst Segedie, and Executive Assistant <br />Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Oakbrook Chumash Interpretive Center Annual Report — Dawn Mena <br />Mena, Director of Museum Operations and Education Oakbrook Chumash <br />Interpretive Center (OPCIC), introduced Joe Mena, Acting Chairman of the Board. <br />She provided highlights of the annual report, including information on events, such <br />as the weekend pow -wow, education programs, museum, new curators, <br />improvements, membership program, tours, Chumash Park, the new "ap," and <br />outreach efforts. She expressed appreciation for the support and cooperative <br />relationship with District staff. <br />Board members commended Mena for her efforts. <br />Neighborhood for Learning — Brenda Hunter <br />Hunter thanked the Board for continued CRPD support, and presented an <br />overview of the Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning (CV Nf -), with an update <br />of programs and growth during last year. She highlighted preschool, perinatal, <br />family, and community services. She noted the Read Early, Read Aloud Guest <br />Reader Program, Watch & Wonder Toddler Program, and the Health and Fitness <br />Expo. <br />She introduced Laura Caraveo, a former AmeriCorps worker and current teacher, <br />who discussed her experiences with the program. <br />Board members thanked Hunter for the presentation and her efforts. <br />
