CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 20, 2008 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., and Jean Riley of the Conejo <br />Valley Botanical Garden led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent. None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton, Hare, and Lewanda, <br />and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Marilee Ullmann expressed concern about Equestrian Trails Inc. (ETI) and Conejo <br />Creek Equestrian Park. <br />Jean Riley and Beverly Rooney, of the Conejo Valley Botanical Garden, <br />provided a presentation highlighting the Garden's background, needs, goals, <br />funding, the yea's accomplishments, current vegetation, and fiscal year finances. <br />They invited all to visit, and expressed appreciation for District involvement and <br />support. <br />Lange stated that the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden tour earlier in the day was <br />enlightening and fun. He thanked all who were involved in the tour. <br />Board members thanked Riley and Rooney for their efforts at the Garden. <br />Friedl noted that the District will soon take ownership of approximately eight acres <br />of property adjacent to the Garden. <br />4.
