An Open Space Appreciation Hike <br />in Wildwood Park is planned for September 19. The Young Artists Ensemble <br />presentation of Sleeping Beauty Kids will play from November 6 — 22 on Fridays, <br />Saturdays and Sundays. The Ventura County Gilbert & Sullivan Repertoire Company <br />will open Yeomen of the Guard on October 2. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Lewanda said that 16 volunteers donated blood at the <br />Health & Benefits Fair & Blood Drive on September 15. Holt commended the event. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl noted the letter from Mary Harris, and said that staff talked with Ms. Harris <br />about her concerns. He said the District was honored by the American Cancer <br />Society Relay for Life organization, and he displayed the certificate. He will attend <br />the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) conference next week. <br />Concluding, he said that the Day of the Horse and the American Youth Soccer <br />Organization (AYSO) kickoff were very successful. He noted the presence of Clint <br />Matkovich in the audience, and said they would meet to discuss concerns. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Short said that Conejo Valley Little League representatives had talked to him about <br />various issues and asked staff to contact them. <br />Lange said that the Day of the Horse and the AYSO opening day were both very <br />successful events, and he was pleased that the District is able to partner with such <br />fine organizations. <br />F. Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Jacobsen discussed the impressive growth of soccer in the Thousand Oaks area. <br />
