Reaffirm Contract with PSOMAS for Design Services for Lang Ranch
Community Park
Short stated that, prior to becoming a member of the Conejo Recreation and
Park District Board of Directors, he participated in a focus group and the
Master Planning process for Lang Ranch Community Park, and is currently
president of Little League. Since the plaintiffs in the Lang Ranch Community
Park lawsuit are threatening further litigation against the District should he vote
on matters involving the Lang Ranch Community Park, he said he is recusing
himself from the item. He left the dais and the room.
Friedl referenced the April 16, 2009 Board report and provided background
information. He said that since the April 16, 2009 Board report, Ventura County
Superior Court has issued a ruling which requires additional environmental work.
PSOMAS has the capability with in-house and sub -consultants to perform the
additional environmental and design work related to compliance with the court's
ruling. The comprehensive scope of work for the additional requirements is currently
being developed in detail. The additional work is within the originally budgeted
contingency amount, and therefore no additional appropriation is required at this time.
In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Friedl said that the proposed improvements at
Oakbrook Service Yard are subject to the court hearing on July 28.
