Adoption of Resolution No. 061109-A Directing Preparation of the <br />Engineer's Report, Declaring Intention to Levy Assessments for 2009-10, <br />Preliminarily Approving Engineer's Report for Districtwide Park <br />Maintenance and Recreation Improvement District (62-1) and Providing for <br />a Notice of Public Hearing <br />Hare referenced documentation, and stated that the Districtwide Park <br />Maintenance and Recreation Improvement District (62-1) was initially approved in <br />2001. Every year, thereafter, the Board is asked to consider and preliminarily <br />approve the Engineer's Report and declare the District's intention to levy the <br />annual assessments. The resolution provides for a required public hearing on <br />June 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. The proposed fiscal year 2009-10 assessment rate <br />per single family equivalent benefit unit is $31.24. Hare said staff <br />recommendation is adoption of the resolution. <br />It was moved by Short, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to adopt <br />Resolution No. 061109-A directing preparation of the Engineer's Report, <br />declaring the District's intention to levy assessments for 2009-10, <br />preliminarily approving the Engineer's Report for Districtwide Park <br />Maintenance and Recreation Improvement District (62-1) and providing for <br />a notice of public hearing; that it be read in title only and all other readings <br />be waived. <br />C. Award Bid for Fiore Playfields Parking Lot Renovation <br />Hare provided relevant information. A notice to bidders was advertised in the <br />Ventura County Star. Fourteen bidders received plans and specifications and <br />attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting on May 1. Four submitted bids on May <br />27, and the low bid received from Berry General Engineering Contractors, Inc. <br />meets all the specifications. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Hare said that Berry Contractors has worked for <br />the District in the past; and in the future staff will look into opportunities to involve <br />other agencies with site improvements. <br />It was moved by Short, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to award bid to <br />Berry General Engineering Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $60,998, plus <br />a 15% contingency amount of $9,100 totaling $70,098 for renovation of the <br />Fiore Playfields Parking Lot; funds available in the FY 2008-2009 budget. <br />
