May 14, 2009 <br />Page 4 <br />Party in the Park" scheduled for May 16. The Therapeutic Unit will host the <br />Spring Fling Dance for ages 15 and up on May 16. At Goebel Senior Adult <br />Center, a Generation Celebration and a Senior Pageant will be held on May <br />16 and May 31, respectively. <br />Concluding, Benton said that the Grand Opening of the Community Pool at <br />California Lutheran University (CLU) was a great success; District staff did <br />not compete in Corporate Games this year; and staff is meeting with <br />representatives of the Haunted House event, relative to its relocation from <br />Hillcrest Center to the Janss Market Place. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda presented an update on the State's financial status relative to <br />local governments, and she said staff is currently working on the Fiscal <br />Year 2009-201012010-2011 Budget. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl highlighted the recent Family Fun Fest and the community carnival. No data <br />from the community carnival has yet been received from Joe Blash, President of <br />North American Amusements. Concluding, he noted that, due to the country's <br />current financial condition, construction costs have declined. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange stated that he will attend the CaILAFCO Board meeting on May 15 in <br />Sacramento, and Board reorganization and redistricting will be discussed. <br />F. Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Lange said that at a recent visit to the Chumash Interpretive Center he noted many <br />improvements to the site. He highlighted the recent Ride On Open House May 2 at <br />Walnut Grove Equestrian Center, the Grand Opening of the Community Pool at <br />California Lutheran University and the ribbon cutting ceremony at the community <br />carnival at Conejo Creek South. <br />Jacobsen said that Gibson and he attended the May 13 Conejo Open Space <br />Conservation Agency (COSCA) meeting; the proposed ordinance manual is <br />undergoing the approval process; and 19 projects to acquire and/or preserve open <br />space have been approved.
