April 30, 2009 <br />Page 4 <br />currently contracts with EBM Inc. for $136,263.24 annually. A notice to <br />potential proposers was advertised in the Ventura County Star, two <br />companies submitted proposals on March 27, the evaluation committee <br />interviewed both proposers, and recommends EBM Inc. as the successful <br />proposer. Staff comprehensively reviewed the current contract and refined <br />the scope of work. If approved, a contract for a five-year period with two <br />optional one-year extensions will be executed, and the terms of the contract <br />may be extended upon mutual agreement of both parties. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 5-0 to <br />authorize General Manager to execute a contract with Excellent <br />Building Maintenance Inc. (EBM) in the amount of $124,920 annually <br />($10,410 per month) for services to seven parks throughout the <br />District. <br />9. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION <br />None <br />10. Parks Division Report <br />Hare stated that Ride On is hosting an Open House May 2 at Walnut Grove <br />Equestrian Center, at which they plan to thank and acknowledge the District <br />for helping install their wastewater and other utility lines. PSOMAS has <br />started initial work at Lang Ranch Park site. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Hare said no location has yet been <br />identified for a dirt bike facility. Jacobsen said consideration should be <br />given to partnerships with other agencies to provide such a facility. In <br />response to Short's inquiry, Benton said that paint ball trips are regularly <br />scheduled by the Teen Center. <br />
