CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 30, 2009 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />9. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Holt called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M., and Hare led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Holt, Gibson, Jacobsen, Lange, Short <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Benton and Hare, Parks <br />Superintendent Kouba and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />COSCA Rangers <br />Glen Kinney, Supervisor Park Rangers and Kristin Foord, COSCA Manager <br />Kinney and Foord provided a presentation of scenes of open space including work <br />projects, vistas, access points, and trail users including equestrians, hikers, and <br />mountain bikers. <br />They noted that COSCA is a joint powers agency involving the District and the City <br />of Thousand Oaks, and was established in 1977. There are 15,000 acres of open <br />space, 15 trail heads, and eight volunteer programs. Twenty-five more miles of <br />trail are planned and COSCA enjoys strong public support. <br />Board members thanked Kinney and Foord for the presentation and their efforts on <br />behalf of open space. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 5-0 to approve <br />the agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A.
