Scores were applied to <br />rankings: <br />1 = 10 points <br />2 = 6 points <br />3 = 3 points <br />4 = 1 point <br />Lewanda announced the three applicants who received the highest point <br />totals: Biery, Kurfess and Short. <br />On behalf of the Board, Gibson thanked and commended all applicants. <br />It was moved by Gibson that Short be appointed to fill the vacancy. Without <br />a second the motion died. <br />It was moved by Lange that Biery be appointed to fill the vacancy. Without a <br />second, the motion died. <br />It was moved by Jacobson, and seconded by Lange, that Kurfess be <br />appointed to fill the vacancy. The vote was split: Jacobsen and Lange in <br />support, Holt and Gibson in opposition. Motion failed for lack of 3 (majority <br />of quorum) affirmative votes. <br />It was discussed that a fourth name be added to the list of applicants receiving the <br />highest number of votes. <br />
