January 8, 2009 <br />Page 6 <br />regular season starts on Monday, January 12. Therapeutics is presenting <br />Hip Hop Dances on Monday nights, and a five mile Open Space <br />Appreciation Hike is scheduled for January 17. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda presented an overview of the State budget issue, relevant to <br />CRPD and MRCA. She stated that there is as yet no final information on <br />the State budget, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority has <br />halted bond funded projects, and a 90 -day plan has been established to <br />facilitate a nimble approach to ramifications of the State budget crisis. <br />Lange thanked Lewanda and staff for their efforts. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Holt commended staff members for their holiday philanthropy project. <br />Friedl stated that there would be Board meetings on January 15 and 22. He will <br />meet with the City Manager of Westlake Village to discuss topics of mutual <br />interest. He met with the Board of Directors of the Chumash Corporation and a <br />new contact person has been identified. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange reported that he has been elected MRCA Chair of the Board and, as a <br />result of Director Berger's retirement, a Board Public Member vacancy has <br />resulted. <br />Lange said he attended the recent Ventura County Board of Supervisors swearing <br />in ceremony. <br />F. Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />12. REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORTS AND ITEMS FOR SUBSEQUENT AGENDAS <br />13. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Jim Bukowsky, of the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Joint Powers Authority, introduced <br />himself, spoke of his agency, and invited a CRPD representative to attend one of its <br />monthly JPA meetings. <br />
