Thousand Oaks Rotary Club Chili Cook -Off Annual Agreement and Permit
Conditions -- Conejo Creek Park
Hare noted the presence of Barbara Murray of Thousand Oaks Rotary. Murray spoke of
the goals of the fund raiser and highlighted the planned event.
In response to Board inquiries, Hare said that there is no scheduling conflict with Conejo
Valley Days, and minimal damage occurred last year to the site.
It was moves! by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0, with Short not yet in
attendance, to authorize General Manager to execute the Thousand Oaks Rotary
Club Chili Cook -Off Agreement for 2011.
B. Availability of Property in Tierra Rejada Vailey
Friedl noted the presence of Ralph Mahan, distributed site maps, and provided
background information. He stated that public benefits of recreational uses of the land
would flow to residents throughout eastern Ventura County. Therefore, it seems more
equitable and desirable for a multi -agency effort to bear the costs and investigate the
public benefits of this property in the Tierra Rejada Valley. If so directed, staff would
strive to convene a meeting of representatives from interested agencies to discuss the
potential issues, costs, benefits, challenges and opportunities.
Mahan discussed the site and explained the maps.
In response to Lange's inquiry, Friedl said that public input relative to possible uses of the
regional site would be collected in an open process.
