Sports Summit Follow -Up Report and Discussion — September 15, 2010 <br />Friedl referenced documentation and highlighted the September 15 Sports <br />Summit meeting. He said that a variety of issues and opportunities were <br />discussed including the field distribution process, rain procedures, impacts on the <br />neighborhoods, field maintenance, and costs, as well as the recently implemented <br />capital improvement grant program. The event, attended by Gibson and Short <br />and individuals representing various area athletic associations, provided an <br />efficient way of disseminating information, exchanging ideas, and making personal <br />contact with sports representatives in the community. Parks Division Report <br />Hare stated that the rangers are in the process of moving into their new location at <br />Hillcrest Center. He noted the photo contest results and said that an effort will be made <br />to use them in the 2011 CRPD calendar. Concluding, he said that, regrettably, on <br />Wednesday a heritage oak was lost in Conejo Creek Park. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Lindsey referenced documentation, and highlighted recreation events and activities. The <br />Young Artists Ensemble Hillcrest Players will present Sherlock Meets the Phantom on <br />October 9 and 16. The Teen Center presents the ROCKTOBER concert on October 9. <br />A community garage sale will be held on October 10 at Goebel Senior Adult Center. The <br />retirement celebration for Dr. Liz Benton is scheduled for October 26 at the Cameron <br />Center. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda said that the new website will begin service on October 22. She noted the <br />
