CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 7, 2010 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Gibson called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M., and led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Short <br />Directors Absent: Lange, Jacobsen <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare and Lewanda, Recreation Manager <br />Lindsey, Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Barbara Kloster, representing Corral 37, expressed concerns about the Conejo Creek South <br />bike path and multiuse trail, and lack of communication with the equestrian community. <br />She asked the District to facilitate better communication among City and District representatives <br />and the equestrians. <br />Tina Frugoli, Thousand Oaks, spoke of communication problems related to the City of <br />Thousand Oaks bikeway and multiuse (equestrian) trail project. She cited safety concerns. <br />Gina Smurthwaite, Thousand Oaks, said she supports everything the two previous speakers <br />said, and reiterated safety concerns. <br />Gibson announced a written statement was submitted by Kristine Salmon, identifying her <br />concerns relative to the path. <br />Gibson said that District staff will speak with City staff about the concerns expressed, and he <br />requested a follow-up report to the Board. Short and Holt expressed confidence that District staff <br />will investigate the situation and follow up appropriately. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Short, and carried 3-0, to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />
