General Manager's Report <br />Friedl noted that the nomination period for the General Election of November 2, 2010 <br />began Monday, July 12 and will close Friday, August 6, 2010. <br />He said he will speak to the Santa Rosa Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) on July <br />29, relative to the Conejo Recreation and Park District generally, and to possible <br />District involvement with the Santa Rosa equestrian center property. <br />Friedl highlighted the issues, relative to the construction of the bike path in Conejo <br />Creek South, a City of Thousand Oaks project. A meeting with interested parties <br />and representatives of the City is scheduled for July 16. <br />He identified his vacation schedule and said during his absence, Administrator <br />Lewanda will be acting General Manager. <br />Coverage for the VCSDA booth at the Ventura County Fair is needed for August 14 <br />and 15. Lange said he would be available for a half day of service. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Gibson said he will not be present at the September 2, September 16, and October <br />21 Board meetings, and Vice Chair Short will preside. <br />Lange suggested that the District investigate revenue generators such as Rancho <br />Simi Recreation and Park District's miniature golf facility. <br />F. Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Gibson said he and Jacobsen attended the recent Conejo Open Space Conservation <br />Agency (COSCA) meeting, at which the Conejo Canyon Trails Plan was approved. <br />He and Short also attended the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) <br />training earlier in the week, as part of the Governance Foundations program. <br />12.
