CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 4, 2010 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Gibson called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and Jacobsen led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, Lange, Short <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare and Lawanda, Recreation <br />Manager Wiley, and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Community Pool at California Lutheran University (CLU) — A Year in Review <br />Recreation Supervisor Dana Miller and Aquatics Program Director Dee Pearson <br />Miller introduced Pearson, who introduced Nicole Vanwinkle, Pool Manager, and Tony <br />Marsh, Pool Maintenance. She said both are invaluable to the program's success. <br />Pearson provided a Community Pool presentation. Highlights included the grand opening, <br />special awards received, attendance figures, staff qualifications, maintenance and standards <br />of care, classes, special and upcoming events. Special Awards received include SCPPOA <br />Award - 3`d Place Lifeguard Competition; SCMAF and CCMAA - Outstanding New Sports <br />Facility. <br />Board members congratulated and thanked Pearson for the presentation and the Aquatics <br />staff for outstanding service to the community during the first year of operation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Cathy Carlson, Thousand Oaks, distributed documentation and said she wants to ensure <br />that her concerns and suggestions, relative to the best use of the historic Crowley House, <br />are understood. She suggested that Neighborhood for Learning (Nf -) could move and thus <br />make the house available to generate income. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried ", to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />
