Recreation Division Report <br />Lindsey referenced documentation, and highlighted recreation events and activities. <br />The concert scheduled for January 23 featuring the band NEVER SHOUT NEVER is <br />sold out. The Young Artists Ensemble production of The Somewhat True Tales of <br />Robin Hood opens Friday, February 5. Spring 2010 program guides will be mailed to <br />District residents beginning February 2, and in -district internet registration will begin <br />Monday, February 8. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl stated that plans for the Dos Vientos Playfields have been approved by the <br />City of Thousand Oaks Planning Commission and the project is poised to move <br />forward. District personnel are in discussion with Standard Pacific to assume <br />responsibility for the project's completion. Short spoke in support of the proposal. <br />Friedl is participating in a City of Westlake Village steering committee for capital <br />development of a Westlake Village park. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange presented a status report on CaILAFCO, and discussed regionalization <br />issues. <br />He noted the February 2 Ventura County Special Districts Association (VCSDA) <br />meeting at which Carolyn Vance, of the California Forward Coalition, will be the <br />guest speaker. <br />Lange attended Bill Lotts' funeral. <br />Gibson spoke of the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts <br />(CARPD) May conference, and urged all interested to attend. He noted the growing <br />importance of social networking through new technology such as the intemet for <br />promotion of parks and programs. He suggested staff investigate its applicability. <br />
