DEFERRED MATTERS None 8. NEW ITEMS A. Preliminary Budget Fiscal Year 2010-2011 - Resolution 040711-A Lewanda stated that this is an annual occurrence, and the preliminary budget submitted for Board consideration is the 2010-2011 adopted budget. The preliminary budget acts as a stimulus to initiate the public hearing process, which will begin April 21, 2011 and continue at each subsequent Board meeting until the final two-year budget is adopted on June 16, 2011. In response to Gibson's inquiry, Lewanda said that a budget must be adopted by June 30 and the preliminary budget serves this purpose in the event the final budget adoption does not occur until July. Gibson urged that public hearing notices for the budget be widely published beyond what is legally required. Friedl noted that the District brochure is currently one of the venues the District uses to inform the public. It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to adopt Resolution No. 040711-A, Adopting a Preliminary Budget for Fiscal Year 2011-2012 and Authorizing the General Manager to Publish the Notice of Adoption; that it be read in title only and all other readings be waived.
