CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 7, 2011 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />I . CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and David Combs led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: none <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Lewanda, Hare and Lindsey and <br />Executive Assistant Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />Fried[ introduced David Combs, Builder First Class SCW, U.S. Naval Mobile Construction <br />Battalion Three, and family. Combs provided assistance in the construction and <br />maintenance of the Rabbit Flats Disc Golf Course, and has served multiple assignments in <br />Afghanistan. Combs spoke of his involvement with, and support of, disc golf. In <br />appreciation of the District's positive impact on the community, he presented a flag, which <br />flew in Afghanistan, to the District. <br />Board members stated their appreciation to Combs for his help with the disc golf course, the <br />flag, and his service to our country. <br />RSVP — Tax Program — RSVP Director Cindy Powers <br />Powers presented an overview of the RSVP Tax Program. She noted that last year under <br />the direction of Richard Doering, 32 volunteers served over 1,200 households. <br />She described Doering as a mentor, teacher, guide and resource. <br />Jacobsen, on behalf of the District, thanked Doering for his service to the community and <br />presented him with a pin. <br />Doering paid tribute to his volunteers. Board members stated their appreciation to Doering <br />and his volunteers. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0, to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />
