City of Thousand Oaks Communication Regarding Opposition of Brown <br />Administration's Proposal to Abolish Redevelopment Agencies in California <br />Friedl highlighted events in Sacramento, relative to the proposed abolishment of <br />redevelopment agencies in California. <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare noted the recent article in the Acorn Newspaper relative to the award of contract <br />to S.H.E. Engineering and Construction by the City of Thousand Oaks to install <br />energy -producing panels at Hillcrest Center and at the City's Municipal Service <br />Center. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Lindsey referenced the recreation documentation and noted the 24th Annual Spring <br />Arts & Crafts Festival on March 5 and 6. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl highlighted recent events in Sacramento, relative to the District and referenced <br />the Assembly Local Government Committee & Assembly Accountability and <br />Administrative Review Committee at which he spoke. He said he stressed the need <br />for cooperation and collaboration among agencies. <br />He said he may attend the upcoming California Forward meeting. Board members <br />urged his attendance. <br />Friedl discussed water rates issues, highlighted State issues relative to special <br />districts, and said that staff is considering inviting public participation in the planning <br />process for the District's 50th anniversary. <br />E.
