Contract in the Amount of $354,197 Plus an Approximate 15% Contingency for <br />Design and Fabrication Services for Oakbrook Service Yard Pre -Engineered <br />Maintenance Building <br />Hare provided pertinent information. Current east end grounds operations for the <br />District are located, through an agreement Conejo Valley Unified School District <br />(CVUSD), at the Conejo Service Yard, on CVUSD property. Due to the age and size <br />of the facility, and the immediate proximity to an elementary school, it is desirable to <br />relocate District staff. The existing District -owned Oakbrook Service Yard, which <br />currently houses District and City staff bins for trash and recycling waste, as well as <br />storage for District equipment and material, has been in operation for over 30 years. <br />Responding to a notice in the Ventura County Star, ten potential firms attended the <br />mandatory proposal meeting, five submitted proposals, the evaluation committee <br />interviewed the top two proposers, and based on the criteria set forth, recommends <br />Diani Building Corporation for contract award. Hare referenced financial data. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiries, Hare said that the contract is for design and <br />fabrication work only, and staff will provide appropriate environmental analysis when a <br />site work contract is brought to Board. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to authorize the <br />General Manager to enter into a contract with Diani Building Corporation in the <br />amount of $354,197, plus an approximate 15% contingency amount of $53,000, <br />totaling $407,197 for the design and fabrication of the pre-engineered <br />maintenance building at Oakbrook Service Yard. <br />B. Award Purchase in the Amount of $56,966 for John Deere Utility Tractor, Model <br />5075M <br />Hare provided relevant background information. He referenced the Board approved <br />equipment replacement plan, which provides a more effective, efficient and timelier <br />response to the District's equipment needs. He reviewed the purchasing process, <br />referenced the purchasing policy matrix, and noted the options relative to the utility <br />tractor.
