Authorize General Manager to Sign an Agreement with Document Systems for <br />the Lease, Service and Management of a Print Fleet <br />Friedl introduced Larry Levin, Document Systems representative, and highlighted <br />relevant issues. Staff stated that, as part of its ongoing evaluation of the use of <br />technology at the District, a review of copiers/printers/print services was performed. <br />Potential savings could be achieved by standardizing equipment across the District. <br />Document Systems is an approved vendor in the US Communities Government <br />Purchasing Alliance. <br />Staff said that currently, appropriations for print/copy services appear throughout <br />individual units' budgets. Levine stated that Document Systems can provide <br />standardized equipment and management software to facilitate managing the printer <br />fleet and tracking staff usage. <br />Gibson expressed concern regarding cost and the desire to continue to positively <br />impact local businesses. He requested that in the future more complete information <br />be provided to the Board. <br />Lewanda stated that printer costs are currently approximately $108,000 per year, and <br />it is projected that with the new print fleet, the cost will be approximately $83,000 per <br />year. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-1, with Gibson voting <br />nay, to authorize the General Manager to sign an agreement with Document <br />Systems for the lease, service and management of a printer fleet. <br />B. Receive Input, Provide Comments and Direct Staff to Prepare Final Draft Master <br />Plan Update Along with Appropriate Environmental Document for Board <br />Consideration and Action <br />Ron Siegal, representing Signature HOA, referenced the correspondence of Alyse <br />Lazar, attorney at law, to Hare, and urged that decisions be made on objective <br />information. <br />Hare provided relevant information, referenced submitted documentation and <br />introduced Kathleen Mallory of Planning & Entitlement Services.
