November 15, 2012 <br />Page 3 <br />C. Youth Outreach impressions — October 2012 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare reported that weather permitting, the Oakbrook Neighborhood "Sneak Peak" <br />Open House will be held this Saturday at 8:30 am. Residents and neighbors have <br />been invited to walk the property and ask questions. At Oakbrook Service yard, the <br />paving is close to completion. The building contractor will start work next week. The <br />Snack Shack/Community Meeting Room at Conejo Creek South is looking good; <br />work on the interior will begin soon. The Del Prado Playfield ribbon cutting is still <br />tentatively scheduled for early afternoon on January 12th. Hare met with the Solar <br />World representatives and the process for obtaining a development permit <br />applications has begun. At Newbury Gateway Park, the city has begun preparations <br />for the drainage improvement work on Michael Drive. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Lindsey reported the winter brochure will be mailed on November 26th. The RSVP <br />Luncheon is scheduled for November 27th and 28tH <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl noted the need for a closed session this evening with no report expected. He <br />expressed his gratitude and appreciation and admiration for Mark Jacobsen's 44 <br />years of service on the Board of Directors. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Jones met with Harry Schaad a couple of weeks ago. Staff has since met with <br />Westlake Rotary representatives and work is continuing on trying to find an <br />alternative weekend/location for the Oak Heart Music Festival. <br />Lange referenced his letter in the T.O. Acorn published today and expressed <br />gratitude for his reelection; he views it as a reflection of the public's appreciation for <br />the work the District is doing. He thanked Mark Jacobsen for his service and looks <br />forward to working with Chuck Huffer. <br />
