July 19, 2012
Page 5
A. Youth Outreach Impressions — May 2012
B. Goebel Senior Center Commission Meeting Minutes -- April & May 2012
11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS
A. Parks Division Report
Hare reported the Rancho Conejo Playfield parking expansion is complete;
ECI striped the lot yesterday. The area is still fenced and awaiting city and
public works approval. ECI began construction at Oakbrook Neighborhood
Park on Monday -- completion is expected in December of this year. Friedl
and Hare met with representatives from SolarWorld to discuss the power
purchase agreement — it is anticipated this will be brought to the Board in
early September. Hare will attend a public meeting scheduled for next
Wednesday evening regarding the proposed angled parking on Reino Road.
B. Recreation Division Report
Lindsey referenced the Recreation Highlights provided the Board. "Cabaret"
opens at the end of the month. "Fishing Frenzy' is on August 4th. Eighty-
five people have already signed up for the "Great Conejo Campout." Steve
Wiley is retiring at the end of August; his last day will be Thursday, August
30th. There will be a reception held for him that afternoon — invitations to
follow. The fall brochure will be mailed next week and registration begins
July 30th. In response to Holt's question, Lindsey stated that "Tropical Daze"
is a fundraiser for "First 5" and not a District event. Concert in the Park
attendance last Sunday was approximately 1200.
C. Management Services Division Report
No report.
D. General Manager's Report
Friedl thanked Board members for their attendance at the Special Meeting
last week. Next year's Board meeting schedule is being created; please let
Friedl know of any particular conflicts with the tentative schedule distributed
this evening; it will be finalized in September. There will be no need for a
closed session this evening.
