CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />June 7, 2012 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and Simon, Chernaysky, Basile and <br />Nardecchia led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare, Lewanda and <br />Lindsey, Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />COSTAC Trails Education Days Contest Winners — Elayne Haggan <br />Julia Osborne, President and Elayne Haggan, Vice President of Conejo Open <br />Space Foundation, presented highlights of the 2012 Annual Conejo Open Space <br />Trails Days and introduced this year's contest winners. <br />Olivia Simon — Glenwood Elementary <br />Hannah Chernaysky — Madrona Elementary <br />Rocco Basile — Lang Ranch Elementary <br />Gabrielle Nardecchia — Westlake Hills <br />Caelyn Ponder — Lang Ranch Elementary (not present) <br />The students shared some of their experiences; on behalf of the District, Friedl and <br />Lange presented gifts to the winners present. The Board thanked Osborne, <br />Haggan and the students for their hard work. <br />Kitty Dill — Arts Council of the Conejo Valley <br />Dill introduced Margaret Travers, Director of Publications for the Arts Council Board <br />and Executive Director of the Ventura County Arts Council and Gordon Durrich, <br />who is retiring after serving seven years on the Arts Council Board.
