Investment Reports — April & May 2016 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare reported the District transitioned to reclaimed water yesterday at North Ranch <br />Neighborhood Park. Approval was received for turf rebates from the Metropolitan <br />Water District in the amount of $870,000 to convert the 29 remaining parks, with an <br />eighth -month window of time in which to do the work. Banyan Park will continue to <br />be studied based on park neighbor's concerns. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis thanked all who participated in the many 4th of July activities offered by the <br />District. She referenced Rec Highlights, specifically the upcoming performances of <br />YAE's "The Lion King," "Movie in the Park" at Dos Vientos Community Center <br />(showing "Zootopia") and "Christmas in July" at the GACC Boutique. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda reported Lisa Soghor has resigned her position at MBCA; she has <br />accepted a job at the city of Malibu. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl acknowledged members of the public who spoke about Banyan Park this <br />evening and indicated staff will reach out to neighborhood representatives for <br />additional dialogue before moving forward with Phase 2 turf reductions. He <br />thanked the Parks & Planning Division for all their efforts in managing the <br />transitions necessary to deal with drought conditions and is grateful for the public's <br />understanding of the challenges involved. Friedl reported letters signed by Vice <br />Chair Lange (for Chair Huffer, who is out of town) were sent to Senator Pavely and <br />Senator Hertzberg regarding AB 2444, which is currently in the Senate. Friedl <br />noted Gibson and Hare will be absent from the next Board meeting. <br />E. Directors' Reports & Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />
