December 3, 2015 <br />Page 4 <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl reported that, thanks to the T.O. Police Department, there have been public safety <br />improvements at 850 Warwick. He indicated Lange and others started a dialogue that <br />resulted in the current Homework Club program being held there. Lange acknowledged <br />other community leaders who were involved. The process has begun for hiring a new <br />Administrator, Recreation and Community Services; eight or nine candidates have been <br />identified and interviews will be held in early January. Friedl received a phone call from <br />CSDA regarding a new public info/social media campaign which is underway; they are <br />looking to feature special districts and would like to use the Ride On footage from CRPD's <br />Gold Medal video. They will be filming next Tuesday, 12/8. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Gibson believes it would be prudent to provide CRPD staff with safety training, especially <br />with regard to the recent mass shootings. He requested Friedl bring a report back at a <br />Board meeting in early 2016. <br />F. Follow -Up Reports on Meet! n gs/Conferences Attended <br />Lange, Huffer and Jones attended the Thousand Oaks State of the City Event at Cal <br />Lutheran on Tuesday. Lange, Huffer and Gibson attended the VCSDA Dinner Meeting at <br />Hillcrest Center Tuesday evening, where Jacqui Irwin was the featured speaker. Holt <br />reported on her attendance, with Lewanda, at the CERF Annual Speakers Luncheon. <br />Jones represented CRPD at the City of Thousand Oaks' Reorganization Meeting on <br />Tuesday evening and presented a gift, on behalf of CPRD, to outgoing Mayor Al Adam. <br />12. REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORTS AND ITEMS FOR SUBSEQUENT AGENDA <br />Huffer requested a historical and procedural review of how assignments of Board members to both <br />CRPD committees and outside organizations are determined.
