CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />July 16, 2015 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Jones called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and Lange led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Huffer, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare, Lewanda and Lindsey, and <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />"Conejo Public Art Project"— Pat Johnson, President, Arts Council of the Conejo Valley <br />(ACCV) <br />Pat Johnson, President of the ACCV, presented information on a community -wide, family-oriented <br />public art project, which involves the creation and display of 5'6" fiberglass cottontail rabbits, <br />throughout the Conejo Valley, decorated by local artists and purchased by local businesses, <br />organizations and individuals. She introduced Fran Vigne, who is chair of the "Conejo Cottontails: <br />The Conejo Public Art Project." Johnson has already approached the local Chamber of Commerce <br />and the Cultural Affairs Commission; there is a lot of community enthusiasm and support. Johnson <br />and Vigne answered Board Member's questions. She is hoping CRPD will write a letter supporting <br />the project, which will be presented at the Thousand Oaks Arts Festival on September 19th and <br />201'. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Deborah Vukovitz, Thousand Oaks, expressed concern over the spraying of Round Up in local <br />parks. <br />S. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Huffer and carried 5-0 to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />
