Old Meadows Park Play Area Phase 1 -- Award Bid to Unlimited Engineering <br />Contracting, Inc. for $288,800 (Base Bid $225,000 plus Add Alternate #1 $58,500 <br />and Add Alternate #2 $4,500) plus contingency in the amount of $28,800, totaling <br />$3'16,800 <br />Hare reported this request is for the Phase 1 improvements at Old Meadows. There <br />were nine bids; the low bidder backed out due to a miscalculation. The second low bid <br />was from Unlimited Engineering; they are currently working at EI Parque de la Paz and <br />were the contractors used for the playground work at Borchard Community Park. The <br />goal is to have the first phase completed by July 15t to coincide with the hosting of <br />Special Olympics athletes in Thousand Oaks. The project is being done in partnership <br />with Play Conejo, CRPD will be the manager of the project, pay out funds and then <br />invoice Play Conejo anything over and above $75,000. There were math errors on the <br />Board report; the recommendations have been modified, with changes highlighted, to <br />reflect the corrections. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to approve: <br />1. Transfer and appropriate $261,800 $228,700 wireless communication facility <br />revenues in Capital Improvement Fund (13) to Districtwide Assessment <br />account 62-802-811-80406-009. <br />2. Award bid to Unlimited Engineering Contracting, Inc. for $00 $267,000 <br />(Base Bid $225,000 plus Add Alternate #1 $5800 $37,500 and Ad <br />Alternate #2 $4,500) plus contingency in the amount of $28,800 $26,700, <br />totaling $31-6,000 $293,700 for work generally including removal and <br />relocation of a number of play equipment pieces and sections of resilient <br />surfacing, minor utility relocation, and installation of playground <br />equipment, synthetic turf, shade structures, fencing, concrete edging and <br />curb. <br />B. Adopt Resolution No. 020515-A Establishing the Quimby Fee for Multi -Family <br />Residential Housing Within the Thousand Oaks Boulevard Specific Plan Area; <br />Authorization to Meet with City of Thousand Oaks Staff Regarding Potential <br />Minor Updates to the Quimby Ordinances and to Explore Additional Park Impact <br />Fee Options Associated with New Development <br />Friedl introduced Blair Aas, Director of Planning Services for SCI Consulting.
