Community Dog Meetings — Direct Staff Regarding Potential Off -Leash Dog
Areas
Hare presented the item; it is an outgrowth of the interest of residents in adding
more off -leash dog areas to the community. Two community meetings were held
recently, resulting in two major goals: creation of a non-profit and development of
small off -leash dog areas in nine existing parks. Currently a group is working on
the creation of a non-profit; staff looked at parks throughout District and came up
with a list of geographically spread out locations for off -leash dog areas. The next
step is to visit the sites with the goal of having community meetings at the four
parks at the top of the list over the next few months. Hare will return to the Board
