Some notable highlights from 2023 include: <br /> <br /> Partnered with: <br />o CRPD Dos Vientos Community Center to provide summer camps; <br />o CRPD Dos Vientos Community Center to provide Introductory Horseback Riding <br />Classes <br />o CRPD Therapeutics for summer day camp one day each week for five weeks; <br />o Turner Syndrome Camp to provide riding lessons, horse management, wagon rides <br />and craft projects for nearly 40 youth. <br />o Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts providing service projects and educational tours; <br />o Villa Esperanza providing training sites for adults with developmental delays with full <br />scholarship; <br />o USC School of Occupational Therapy as a site for student learning; <br />o City of Los Angeles Play LA Youth Adaptive Para Equestrian program. <br />o US Equestrian Federation as a Center of Excellence for Para Dressage, the only such <br />center west of the Mississippi. <br />o US Equestrian Federation as a Community Outreach Organization <br /> Managed the CALNET State Championship horse show at the LA Equestrian Center <br />benefitting six therapeutic riding centers, over 112 disabled riders including about 25 riders <br />from the Conejo Valley. In December we took 100 of our riders to the Rancho Potrero to <br />enjoy the beautiful open space surrounding the ranch. Our riders enjoyed a beautiful trail <br />ride and a family BBQ catered by the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks. <br /> Provided seven trainings, and on-going training, to new volunteers educating the community <br />in horse handling, safety protocols and disability awareness. <br /> Took riders with disabilities to open horse shows in the community, competing against <br />typical riders. <br /> At Rancho Potrero, we held a dressage schooling show open to the general public and an <br />adaptive riding show which attracted nearly 75 competitors. <br /> We offered Hay Wagon/Wild Flower rides at Rancho Potrero giving the community the <br />opportunity to enjoy our amazing open <br />space <br /> We hosted a Rancho Potrero Boarder BBQ <br /> Held an instructor certification workshop <br />with Ride On staff serving as faculty. These <br />workshops teach new professionals the <br />skills needed to teach disabled riders and <br />certify them to the standards of the national <br />association. <br /> Participated in United Way’s Day of Caring. <br /> Provided a Networking Day for Industry <br />Professionals <br /> Trail Rides: Rancho Potrero Trail Rides <br />offers trail rides to the general public 3 days <br />per week, year round.
