CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />May 16, 2024 <br />6:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br />MI i <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and Reyes led the flag salute. <br />ROLL CALIA <br />Directors Present: Buss, Cusworth, Huffer, Lange and Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Mooney, and Smith, and <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />Concerned Off -Road Bicyclists Association (CORBA) <br />Mooney introduced Steve Messer, President of CORBA; Messer acknowledged other <br />members of CORBA in the audience and thanked them for their contributions, all of which <br />have led to the success of the Sapwi Bike Park. Messer showed a video of younger bike <br />riders using the park and provided a CORBA/CRPD timeline, beginning in April of 2011 and <br />ending in June of 2022, when CORBA signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding <br />with CRPD. Fundraising is done in a variety of ways and Messer stated what sets the Sapwi <br />Bike Park apart from others is its volunteer leadership. He shared future plans for the park <br />and expressed CORBA's desire to continue to grow and advance this wonderful form of <br />recreation.
