April 18, 2024 <br />Page 2 <br />Irrigation Tech Presentation <br />Mooney introduced Joe Dodge, Irrigation Technician, who has served in this capacity since <br />2015. Dodge shared an overview of his role with the District, which includes a strong focus <br />on saving water, and taking care of irrigation equipment, including rebuilding master valves, <br />monitoring and repairing backflows, maintaining inventory and stocking of parts and valves, <br />and servicing/sizing of pumps. He described his role as a "landscape auditor. Dodge <br />answered Board member's questions and was thanked for his informative presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />(Board members agreed to move this agenda item ahead of, and public speakers were heard <br />before "Special Presentations") <br />Lynda Karl expressed concern about District bathrooms and her desire for additional <br />consideration and amenities for those confined to wheelchairs. <br />Rossanna Guerra, Thousand Oaks, would like to see a simplified process for those applying for <br />financial aid for District programs. <br />It was moved by Huffer, seconded by Buss and carried 4-0 to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />6. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION <br />Campus Master Plan Update — Akbar Alikhan, Deputy City Manager, <br />City of Thousand Oaks <br />Friedl introduced Akbar Alikhan, who presented a detailed summary of the Campus <br />Master Plan ("Creating our City's Downtown.") He included renderings of the project and <br />described its history, which stems from the City's desire for a community space with <br />
