Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Meeting Notice And Agenda -- <br />November 26, 2001 <br />Jacobsen noted that Berger has been appointed Chairperson, the designee <br />of Frank Schillo, Ventura County Board of Supervisors. <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that the next agenda will include a contract award for <br />construction drawings for the McCrea Ranch lake and picnic area, including <br />access infrastructure; and construction on the Dos Vientos Community Park <br />has fallen approximately 30 days behind schedule. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Ward said that there has been no <br />significant increase in vandalism at Wildwood Park. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Scott reported that 400 teens attended the Alex Fiore Thousand Oaks Teen <br />Center High School Concert on December 1, the Newbury Park Library <br />Program began on November 28, the Neighborhoods for leaming (NfL) is <br />recruiting for an Executive Director, mail -in intemet registration begins <br />December 12 for upcoming winter programs, internet software training for <br />staff was conducted, and the Silver Starlight Ball is scheduled for December <br />16 at Palm Colony Clarion Hotel. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Scott said that there has been no major <br />problems identified at the skateboard park. <br />Berger noted that the Middle School Spirit Night on November 20 was a great <br />success. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen reported that live internet registration is being implemented, and <br />although problems are anticipated, it is believed that the service will prove <br />beneficial to the community. He recognized Recreation Manager Wiley's role <br />in establishing the new service. <br />
