On
Tuesday, November 28, the Kindergarteners enjoyed
Yt
;.
their time practicing rolling, catching balls and
playing games to reinforce what they learned. h
Beginning in December, Conejo Center staff will also
begin further supporting Aspen by facilitating
structured play during their recesses twice a week. We
look forward to seeing these partnerships and the participants grow throughout the year.
Jingle Bell Hike
We are excited to be hosting our annual Jingle Bell Hike event on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00am-
12noon. Participants will get to make holiday themed crafts, play games like Reindeer Ring Toss, Coal the
Snowman, and even save Christmas by searching for Santa's lost Christmas magic in the beautiful Conejo
Valley Botanic Garden. We will also be featuring music, face painting, hot chocolate, and plenty of holiday
cheer!
McCrea Ranch
On October 28, McCrea Ranch hosted the McCrea
Ranch Family Harvest Festival for families to enjoy.
The two-hour event hosted over 100 people. Families
enjoyed free activities, such as a photo booth, face
painting, pumpkin decorating, tours of the ranch, and
so much more. Children had fun on the ranch and
enjoyed learning the history behind Joel and Frances
McCrea. As a bonus, because of the help of
maintenance and grounds, we were able to add the
Antique Farm Equipment as part of the tours for
patrons to explore and enjoy. We look forward to
hosting this new event next year for families to enjoy
during the Fall season!
Q
On November 18, McCrea Ranch hosted the first Breakfast Bingo Brunch in honor of Joel McCrea's birthday
on November 5. Participants enjoyed a full breakfast of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and pastries while asking
Wyatt McCrea questions about the history of the ranch, and his family. Brian Naginey ran several games of
bingo with prizes for free tickets to McCrea events in 2024. The event ended with tours of the Bunkhouse,
Antique Farm Equipment, Visitor Center, Milk House, and Shop Area. Participants were extremely pleased
with the presentation of the breakfast, and bingo games, and tours of the ranch.
Recreation Division Highlights Page 3 of 4 Revised 11.2023
