Appointment of Private zen Member to COSCA Board of Directors <br />Friedl reported that the private member of the COSCA Board of Directors has not <br />changed for 43 years since Rorie Skei has served in this position for over four <br />decades. With her recent decision to step down, an opening for a new private member <br />became available. The COSCA Interview Committee met to review the five <br />applications received and conduct interviews of each applicant. Dorothy Sullivan was <br />selected and presented to the full COSCA Board for approval on November 8th. After <br />that approval was secured, the Thousand Oaks City Council approved the <br />recommendation on Tuesday, November 14th- CRPD's approval is the final step <br />before the recommendation can be finalized. Friedl presented Sullivan I s extensive <br />resume and her long list of services to the community. Nickles and Huffer, COSCA <br />Board members, added comments that supported Sullivan's nomination. Sullivan <br />stated her honor and humility at being chosen and expressed her deep desire to serve <br />the community in this position. <br />It was moved by Nickles, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to appoint Doroth I <br />Sullivan to fill the scheduled private citizen vacancy on the Conejo Open Spac., <br />Conservation Agency (COSCA) Board of Directors, subject to the concurrenc <br />of the City Council of the City of Thousand Oaks. I <br />B. Concession Agreement with Oakbrook Park Chumash Indian Corporation <br />(OPCIC) <br />Mooney reported the District and OPCIC have had an agreement since <br />November 4, 2004. The last Agreement was approved five years ago for a five-year <br />term, so renewal is required at this time. The District would like to continue its ongoing <br />and successful relationship with OPCIC. Mooney reviewed the changes made in this <br />new agreement, including some minor clarifications along with adjustments to <br />insurance requirements and custodial responsibilities. He provided an updated copy <br />of the agreement to Board members this evening which reflects two revisions: updated <br />language for mutual indemnity and clarification on what is included in the utilities. <br />Board member's questions were answered by Mooney and a variety of OPCIC Board <br />members, who were in the audience. <br />It was moved by Cusworth, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to authoriz <br />General Manager to enter into a Concession Agreement with Oakbrook Par <br />Chumash Indian Corporation (OPCIC.)
