General Manager's Report Friedl gave kudos to Callis regarding the Enrollment Reports she created; they provide a great amount of data that can be reviewed and used to help with future programming, etc. This week, Mooney and Christy submitted a $10M grant package; now the wait to see if it is approved. Friedl provided a legislative update regarding the California Business Roundtable Proposal; State Legislators put together ACA1 3 in response to these concerns. Voters will eventually decide; there will likely be heavy interest in this issue in November 2024. There is great interest in ACA1 as well, ACA1 would lower the voter threshold from a two-thirds majority to a 55% majority to approve local bonds and certain special taxes for affordable housing, public infrastructure, downpayment assistance, and permanent supportive housing projects. The Ad Hoc Revenue Measure Committee will discuss this next week and come up with a plan moving forward. E. Directors Reports and Follow-up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended Lange invited Board members and senior staff to the $1.2M check presentation to Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) at Elephant Hill, in Northeast L.A., scheduled for next week. Buss has met recently with community stakeholders regarding the Quimby and Park Impact Fee issue. Cusworth has attended some Ad Hoc Committee meetings and invited everyone to the Stagecoach Inn's "Voices of Old Conejo" happening over the next two weekends. Nickles attended several committee meetings: the Conejo Creek Master Plan Committee, Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) Board of Directors, an Ad Hoc Pickleball Committee, a California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD) Finance Committee and CARPD By Law Committee. He also attended the Association of Water Agencies Ventura County (AWAVC) Public Officials Reception at the Reagan Library and was recently appointed to the Community Action of Ventura County Board of Directors. Huffer and Nickles attended a stellar history presentation given by Director Cusworth and Bill Ackerman at the Goebel Adult Community Center. Huffer attended a meeting of the Ad Hoc Large Community Events Committee and a COSCA Board meeting.
