CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />September 21, 2023 <br />6:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br />Huffer called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and Miller led the flag salute. <br />Directors Present: Buss, Cusworth, Huffer, Lange and Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis and Smith, and <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Sports Department — Picnic Rental Process <br />Dana Miller, Recreation Supervisor, Sports Department, presented a brief overview of the <br />Reservations Picnics and Facilities process. She included information on the revenue for <br />Fiscal Year 22/23 and recent facility additions. She described some innovative facility <br />utilization, such as the rental for the "805 Night Market," and she shared some enhanced <br />marketing resources, including banners posted at parks and a new QR code for the winter <br />brochure. The Sports office at Hillcrest Center has been updated to better serve the <br />public. The Sports team was featured in a video, shown at the meeting, illustrating how <br />a patron would go about reserving a picnic area. Miller answered Board member's <br />questions and was thanked for her informative presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Carol Nierman stated her dissatisfaction with the Busy Bees program, run by the Conejo <br />Senior Volunteer Program at the Goebel Adult Community Center. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Cusworth, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />
