March 16, 2023
Page 2
U14
A. Amendment of Existing Option and Site Lease Agreement with Verizon
Wireless for Upgrades to Existing Wireless Communications Facility at
Borchard Community Park
Mooney reported this amendment represents the third proposed for the original
agreement, which was approved by the Board in 2008. He referenced the three
components, which are provided on the site map in the Board report and stated
that the current amendment reflects Verizon's desire to upgrade the antenna pole
and the vault. The District will receive an additional $250 per month; this will bring
the rent up to $3,797.46 per month. There is no time extension to the lease, which
is set to expire in 2033.
It was moved by Cusworth, seconded by Nickles, and carried 5-0 to authorize
the General Manager to approve third amendment of existing Option and Site
Lease Agreements with Verizon Wireless for upgrades of equipment at
Borchard Community Park.
B. Consideration of a Grant of Easement to Southern California Edison
Company for Proposed Electric Distribution Facilities at Undeveloped Del
Norte Park Site
Mooney reported the Del Norte property is an undeveloped park property, which
was acquired by the District in 1965. The easement requested by So Cal Edison,
to install a pad -mounted switch along the front of the property, would minimize the
impact to surrounding residents during public safety power shutoffs. Mooney
stated something similar was installed at Oakbrook Neighborhood Park. A one time
fee of $20,000.00 will be paid to the District for this work. Discussion ensued
regarding any effects this installation might have on the future of the park site.
It was moved by Lange, seconded by Buss, and carried 4-1 (Nickles voting
no) to Authorize the General Manager to execute a Grant of Easement to
Southern California Edison Company for the construction and maintenance
of electric distribution facilities at Undeveloped Del Norte Park Site.
Discussion of Conejo Recreation and Park District and its organizational mission,
vision, and Strategic Plan, focusing on upcoming challenges and opportunities for
2123 and beyond
