Recreation Division Highlights Page 5 of 5 Revised 12.2022
Hillcrest Center for the Arts
Upcoming Shows at Hillcrest Center for the Arts
Our next show is our winter show, Disney’s The Descendants. A magical tale from the viewpoint of the Disney Villains children entering into the
heroes world. Can they exist peacefully
together? Rehearsals are underway for
both the YAE cast and CTFE cast and
the shows will start in the beginning of
February. Tickets are on sale now.
The next Hillcrest Players Camp Courage will be holding auditions in
late January. This show will involve
magic and some technical expertise
from Scott Buchanan.
Classes, Comedy, and Elementary Music at HCFA
Our first Comedy on the Hill in 2023 will be indoors on Saturday, January 14.
The fall session for the Elementary Music Program for Band and Strings will continue into January.
New spring Chorus classes begin in late January.
Staff continues to work on the All District Music Festival at the Kavli.
Master classes are being scheduled for the spring to help young and young at heart artists prepare for auditions, get expert advice on singing dancing, historical significance of plays and more. These will be open to the public and funds will go back to support the Young Artist’s Ensemble! The guest artists are often tied to YAE in some way and have been featured on Broadway, local and regional theatre, or are professionals in the industry.
