Recreation & Community Services <br />Recreation Division Highlights Page 1 of 8 Revised 11.2022 <br /> <br />Recreation Division Highlights <br />Wednesday, November 9, 2022 <br />Thousand Oaks Teen Center <br />Building Renovations Update <br /> <br />We want to welcome you back to our beloved Thousand Oaks Teen Center! We are so excited to say that after being closed for nearly 8 months, the Teen Center finally was able to open its doors to the public on Monday, November 7. In those 8 months that we were closed, lots of very cool renovations were completed such as new floors and bathrooms, and the lobby and classrooms were repainted. We are still waiting for the kitchen and “Backyard” area to be finished and hope they will be completed soon. <br />We happily welcomed back a number of teens that participated in “drop-in” recreation activities such as playing pool, air hockey, ping-pong, and basketball in our gym. We also welcomed back our teens that are participating and enrolled in our Fall/Winter classes. It is so good to be open for business again and we welcome all teens enrolled in 7th-12th grade to join us and use our amazing facility! <br />Boys Fall Soccer Tournament <br />Colina Middle School was recently crowned Champions of the 2022 Fall Boys Friendly Soccer Tournament. They held off a feisty Redwood team and managed to put up three goals during the contest. Temperatures dipped into the 50’s during the final game but that did not seem to faze any of the players. After the game, teams were treated to delicious piping hot pizza provided by the Thousand Oaks Teen Center. <br /> <br />
