June 16, 2022 <br />Page 2 <br />mentors to local youth, improve educational achievement, and provide resources such as <br />job skill training, volunteer opportunities, and recreational opportunities. Student referrals <br />come from faculty, staff, and even peers. Other successful initiatives have been the Anti - <br />Bullying Workshops, Reality Parties, and the Cycles for Success Program. <br />Daub introduced two students who shared about their experiences with the program. <br />Angie, a senior from Westlake High School, became involved in the Youth Outreach <br />Program when the Specialists visited her apartment complex. Since then, her motivation <br />and confidence have been increased in academics, arts, and athletics. Having their support <br />has even grown her interest in pursuing a college education after graduating. Alazay was <br />introduced to the program at a special event and has become much more social as a result <br />of the program. She earned a scholarship in Swimming and credits the Outreach <br />Specialists with encouraging her to pursue her passion. <br />The Directors thanked Daub for her presentation, the Outreach Specialists for their efforts <br />throughout the year, and Angie and Alazay for having the courage to share their personal <br />stories with the Board. <br />4. CRPD Salary Schedule <br />It was moved by Huffer, seconded by Nickles, and carried 4-0 to approve the Consent <br />Calendar as presented. <br />
